Musculoskeletal Anatomy:

This first year course is designed to gain awareness and knowledge of the gross anatomy of the musculoskeletal systems of the human body and understand the functioning of these systems.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of course curriculum through a combination of lecture, power point and use of a learning management software (Moodle) 
  • Demonstration of palpation and classroom management in a practical lab setting
  • Conducting all classes in accordance with the course outline, the class schedule, and all instructional materials adopted for the course.
  • Developing presentations, formative and/or summative assessments, and exercises that will help foster the student learning experience
  • .Qualifications: 
  • A registered massage therapist (RMT) with 2 years’ experience in the field, and a related degree.  Or

  • Physiotherapist with massage therapy understanding and interest in teaching.  Or

  • Chiropractor with massage therapy understanding and interest in teaching. 

  • Post-secondary teaching experience and an interest in continuing education in adult learning is preferable.

 For the last 27 years OVCMT has been providing excellence in Massage Therapy education.   We are accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation (CMTCA)) and Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB).  

If you are interested in sharing your skills as an RMT with students that will inspire you, and have experience with patients in one or more of the following areas;  pregnancy, sports, cancer, scar, or orthopedic, systemic, or neurological conditions, we would love to hear from you.

Education and Experience:

- Must be a Registered Massage Therapist  in good standing with the CMTBC

- Minimum two years' experience practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Skills and Competencies:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Commitment to providing excellent instruction and guidance to students

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Part-time hours: 2.5 - 12 per week
