Judie Barta, RMT

After researching career opportunities that met my value system, I discovered there was to be a new massage therapy school opening in Vernon. I made it into the inaugural class of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 1996! It was the most physically and mentally challenging two years of my life. Those years have taught me how to be a compassionate and more than competent massage therapist, as well as teaching me to continually go inside myself to learn how to holistically move forward, in my practice and my life. I have clients who have been with me since the first year of my practice.

Three clinics and two spas later - I am the Corporate Wellness Director (lovingly referred to as the Director of Happiness!) at Spider Agile Technology, a electrical manufacturing company in Kelowna, BC. I have designed and implemented programs for their company fitness center, spa and cafeteria. My education at OVCMT has given me purpose for health, wellness and the drive for business.  It helped me develop the professionalism to make me a leader in my community.
