Introductory Workshop
The Introductory Workshop is designed for applicants and potential applicants to the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy’s one year Spa Practitioner Program, the three year Rehabilitative Health Professional Program (RMT program), or for applicants planning to attend the programs available at the two other professional massage therapy colleges in B.C.
The content of the Introductory Workshop focuses on an introduction to the practical and professional aspects of the programs available at OVCMT. It is an opportunity for hands-on experience intended to support the applicant in his/her decision making process when considering education for a “practically based” career. It is also an opportunity for applicants to meet potential classmates.
Introductory workshop dates:
- March 27 & 28, 2010
- April 24 & 25, 2010
- May 29 & 30, 2010
The workshop is a two-day weekend event, from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm both Saturday and Sunday.
The cost of this workshop is $280.81, which includes a set of sheets which are required for the workshop. Payment is due at time of registration and may be made by calling OVCMT at 1-800-701-8863. We accept Visa and Mastercard. Registration may also be made in person at the college.

I hope you are enjoying the Introductory Workshop at OVCMT. This weekend is such a great opportunity for you to discover what the massage therapy program is all about. If you choose to carry on you will, in all sincerity, enter one of the most fun and challenging phases of your life. Three years will feel like twenty but pass as quickly as one month. You will push yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually but as each day passes you will feel yourself becoming stronger and getting closer to the place that you want to be, closer to who you want to be. The friends you make become family and your teachers become mentors. You will be encased in your experience and in the process. This is a program that you have to do for yourself, not your parents, friends or partners. You will find yourself studying late into the night and awaking early to practice but you will also find that the growth you experience in the next three years is intense and beautiful, you will be amazed at the person you are in the end. Take care of yourself and know that with hard work, focus and determination you will have an amazing three years!
