Application Fee: Applicants are required to submit a non-refundable $125.00 application fee with their application.
The Interview: The college directors will review and evaluate each application for admission without discrimination regarding age, sex, race, creed, religion or marital status. An interview will be arranged to evaluate character, aptitude, motivation, and qualifications including literacy. During the interview, you will be given an opportunity to ask questions about the college and the program.
Securing Your Seat: Once accepted, the student will be required to submit a supply deposit. We reserve the right to request up to $600.00. This deposit will be applied towards the student's purchases of any textbooks bought through the college. Any unused portion of the deposit will be refunded.
Introductory Workshop: The Introductory Workshop is designed for applicants and potential applicants to the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy's one year Spa Practitioner Certificate curriculum, the three year Rehabilitative Health Professional Program (RMT program), or for applicants planning to attend the programs available at the two other professional massage therapy colleges in B.C.
The content of the Introductory Workshop focuses on an introduction to the practical and professional aspects of the variety of options within the 3-year program available at OVCMT. It is an opportunity for hands-on experience intended to support the applicant in his/her decision making process when considering education for a "practically based" career. It is also an opportunity for applicants to meet potential classmates. The workshop is a two-day weekend event, from 9:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The cost of this workshop is $280.81.
Student Orientation is held on the first day of class. Policies and procedures manual, texts, class and school schedules and the student contract are issued at this time. It is the personal responsibility of each student to read and understand the policies and procedures manual prior to signing his/her contract. If you wish to review the Policy and Procedure manual prior to attending you may ask at the administration office.
