Doug was the 2002 recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, presented at the Leadership Conference of the Council of Schools of the American Massage Therapy Association. The award is for outstanding service to the Council of Schools, and the presentation was accompanied by a standing ovation!

- Co-chair of the Massage Therapy Association of BC since mid 1980’s
Doug has 27 years experience as a Massage Therapist and 24 years
experience as a teacher of massage. He has also held the position of
Practical Director at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy from
1986-1989.
In the 1980’s, Doug was a National Team Trainer with the
cycling team and a massage therapist for the Vancouver Canucks. He
worked with Anita Patrick and a few others to set up the Sports Massage
Therapy Association of Canada.
He has been continually involved with
the College of Massage Therapists of BC, serving on key committees such
as Curriculum, AIT, and Accreditation.
