Barry joined OVCMT in April 2010. Barry brings 15 years of Massage College management and teaching experience. Attended the University of Saskatchewan full and part-time for several years and studying everything from Marketing to Medical Pathology classes. Trained and educated at the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy (PIMT) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. After graduating became the clinic supervisor and later became the executive director. In 1993 Barry started a second campus in Winnipeg, Manitoba, 3 years later sold PIMT and moved to Westport, Connecticut, USA were he took over the administrative duties of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, Westport Campus. While in Connecticut he was the Assistant Coach for the Sacred Heart University Pioneers, NCAA Division I Hockey Team.

After 4 years in Connecticut Barry moved back to Canada were he assumed the roll as the Administrative Director at the Fredericton Campus of Kiné Concept Maritimes; Institute of Research and Training in Massage Therapy. While located in New Brunswick he was the Assistant Coach of the University of New Brunswick Men’s Varsity Hockey Team.

Barry later moved to Ottawa, Ontario to start a new campus of Kine Concept and become an owner again.

Barry has been involved with the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools for 10 years, severed on the Governance Committee and held the all Executive Board positions and end his term as President. Currently Barry is on the Executive Board of the Canadian Council of Massage Schools as a member at large; he has also been active with the Commission of Massage Therapy Accreditation as an on-site team evaluator. Barry has been an active therapist, teacher and educator for the last 14 years. I have specialized in several areas of massage and lectured nationally on Sports Massage, Myofascial and Neuromuscular Techniques, Clinical Treatment, Orthopedic Assessment, and Business Success.

Barry coordinates all administration functions including:

  • management team member
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • supervision of all administrative staff
  • student services
  • maintenance and facilities
  • marketing and admissions

Barry serves as liaison with PCTIA and financial aid officer for StudentAid BC
